Pareto principle...

Here in Denmark there seems to be a different approach to life/ideas...yesterday we heard about Glyngore's towns plan (on a side note...it had 50% of its focus on connecting individuals in the community to promote and foster relationships ...ekk! Warm and fuzziness are coming out of my pores...or is that that Danish beer after an incredibly fun filled evening of delightful company, food and drinks from our most hospitable hosts in Skive...?) anyway...we heard about the old Pareto principle...or 80 20 rule with regards to achieving their vision...after 80% of people are on board...take action ... Because you will never change the other 20% and even if you try the amount of effort is not worth the return.

So simple...yet effective...much like Danish design!

Totally related to this a personal lightbulb just went off! I have a tendency to sometimes (read always) want things i do, say, make etc to be perfect...sometimes to a point that i get so caught up in making sure it is exactly, precisely wonderful, did i say exact, so that no one will reject my idea, thought, me...that I end up not taking any action ...so i really create a big fat zero, zip, zilch of positive action...! So in my pursuit of the last 20% I miss out on the potential for the 80%.... Umm...that is seriously loco!! Dear brain...are you reading this...? strive for positive action not perfection...!
